EV Charge Card Solutions for Businesses

What is an EV charge card?

Similar to fuel cards, EV charge cards provide access to a network of public charging points specifically designed for electric vehicles, facilitating a convenient recharging experience.

Charge cards are easy to use and ensure that your journeys are seamless and uninterrupted. Simply tap your card on the charger at the beginning and end of your charging session, and the cost will automatically be added to your weekly invoice. By using these cards, you'll be able to keep your electric and hybrid vehicles charged up and ready to go whenever you need them.

How do EV charge cards work?

EV charge cards are also known as RFID cards and utilise radio frequency identification technology to make the charging process simpler for drivers. Whilst on the road, you can start, stop and pay for charge sessions at public charge points by simply plugging in your car and tapping the charger. The RFID card contains unique data that is transmitted to the charge point so it can identify the user and begin the charging process.

If you have workplace EV chargers, RFID cards can also be used to restrict charge point access to specific users. For example, you could set a rule so only employees are able to charge during weekdays, but you may want to open charging up to the public during weekends for extra revenue.
