We are currently recruiting for a Technical Project Manager that has had hands on experience of implementing Oracle Cloud Fusion, or another major on-premise ERP application – SAP or Oracle.

Ideally you will have worked for a System Integrator or managed a major System Integrator, and have a detailed understanding of:

  • software development
  • application configuration
  • system functional testing
  • system integration testing
  • non-functional testing
  • data loading
  • infrastructure / environment provisioning
  • Integration between legacy applications and new ERP applications (preferably cloud)

What will you be doing?

Typical work activities will include:

  • Working with the Programme Director, Technology Solution Owner and Business Solution Owner to scope, plan and deliver the technical elements of each programme phase.
  • Working with the IT workstream leads to prepare and monitor detailed delivery plans.
  • Ensuring that the IT workstreams are appropriately resourced, managed and motivated.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project status / progress, controlling dependencies, escalating issues, mitigating risks where appropriate.
  • Attending weekly programme review and other key stakeholder governance meetings as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the end-to-end integrated technology solution is fit for purpose, that it meets the business and technical requirements, and that it is delivered to time and budget.
  • Working closely with the Business Solution Owner to ensure business requirements are fully satisfied by the technology solution.
  • Working closely with the Technology Solution Owner to ensure alignment with technology standards and strategic roadmap.
  • Assessing, planning and managing project changes.
  • Ensuring that the products and artefacts delivered are of the highest possible quality.
  • Strong technical aptitude and an ability to provide a communication bridge between the business, the IT team and third-party suppliers.
  • The ability to share best practices and to introduce innovative ways of working where appropriate.
  • The ability to demonstrate strategic thought leadership but also to recognise the need for tactical solutions where appropriate.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to work at all levels adapting communication style as appropriate.

Experience required:

The essential skills/attributes are:

  • Considerable experience of managing complex IT projects within a transformational change programme including project scoping, planning, execution, progress reporting, issue, risk, dependency and change management, deployment planning / execution.
  • Hands-on experience of business and system analysis, requirements gathering and functional specification and the ability to review / quality assure outputs generated from these activities.
  • The ability to quickly understand complex business processes, requirements and systems and to assist with the design of technical solutions.
  • The ability to lead and motivate IT development, data migration and testing teams.
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and to build a strong rapport with the programme team, members of the IT department, third-party suppliers and the wider business community.
  • Strong technical aptitude and an ability to provide a communication bridge between the business, the IT team and third-party suppliers.
  • The ability to share best practices and to introduce innovative ways of working where appropriate.
  • The ability to demonstrate strategic thought leadership but also to recognise the need for tactical solutions where appropriate.

Particular skills / aptitude required:

  • Experience of working on complex Oracle ERP and/or billing programmes
  • Experience of working with cloud-based SaaS technologies
  • Experience of working with integration technologies
  • Experience of working with complex system landscapes based on a variety of different technology platforms
