What will you be doing as a Scrum Master

This servant leader role is pivotal to us at Radius as we embark on a squad based agile transformation across the Innovation department. Instrumental in this role is supporting and coaching multiple, cross functional, delivery squads. Although the role implies ‘Scrum’ there is a requirement to apply any style of agile/lean and adapt the approach and processes to fit the teams and product as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as servant leader to delivery squad’s
  • Promotes and supports scrum theory, practices and values as defined in ‘The Scrum Guide’
  • Removing impediments and issues affecting the squad’s delivery
  • Evolution and continuous improvement of agile processes and practices
  • Helping the squads in setting sprint goals and commitments that are achievable & protected
  • Working closely with the Product Owner and Business to help prioritize the delivery of value
  • Champion visualization of work, agile metrics and forecasting delivery
  • Contribute to wider scrum of scrums and scrum master chapter meetings

What experience/skills/attributes do you need?

Must Have Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of lean agile frameworks and practises like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
  • Developing agile teams and progressing their agile journey
  • Working knowledge of CI & CD practices and how they fit a lean agile delivery model
  • Coaching teams on how and when to break features into smaller deliverables
  • Confident, self-aware and collaborative approach to coaching teams
  • Pragmatic approach to conflict resolution, team safety and conflicting deadlines.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Atlassian tools\Target Process or similar for backlog and delivery management
  • Story mapping and user journey modelling
  • Kanban/XP hands on experience
  • Agile testing and automation practices
  • Development background
