Unique workspace at Radius helps win top prize at RICS awards

17 May 2019

Radius Limited’ new headquarters, “Radius Campus” has won the Commercial category at the annual RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) Awards North West, which honours outstanding building projects that also positively contribute to the local community.

RICS judges praised the way teams from Space Invader Design, Walker Sime and Overbury were able to work together to create the new innovative workspace which includes an on-site gym, café and relaxation breakout areas with PlayStations, table tennis and pool tables.

The state-of-the-art headquarters for one of Crewe’s largest employers – complete with relaxation areas for staff - triumphed over almost 30 of the North West’s most impressive and community beneficial property projects at the RICS Awards 2019 North West to win a top accolade.

The annual RICS Awards North West - held at the Principal Hotel in Manchester - celebrate inspirational built initiatives in the region, and the skills of the teams behind them, across seven categories.

Chair of the judging panel for the RICS Awards North West, Will Rees of Rees Straw Chartered Surveyors, said: “A diverse range of innovative projects, of all sizes and budgets, made the shortlist this year and the winners are truly representative of our region’s best and most innovative built projects that are having a significant positive impact on their communities.

“The teams behind these winning projects should be very proud of their exceptional achievements and contribution to the region.”

Radius Limited’ new £14 million headquarters in Crewe – known as Radius Campus – won the commercial property accolade for its 64,000 sq ft Grade A office space which RICS judges said has a real focus on the wellbeing of its team. Radius Campus will now be put forward to compete against other regional winners of the award at the national RICS Awards Grand Final which takes place in London on 4th October. Radius would like to thank all of the teams involved in the build and look forward to the grand final later this year.
